Greg Cox

Greg Cox has served as a San Diego County Supervisor representing District 1 since 1995. He has lived his entire life in the South Bay, where he began his public service career as a teacher in the Sweetwater Union High School District. He was elected to the Chula Vista City Council and later served two terms as Mayor of Chula Vista.

From his public service to his membership in local community organizations like the Kiwanis and Optimist Clubs, Greg Cox has been deeply committed to serving the residents and communities of South County.

He helped create the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center, was a founder of the Living Coast Discovery Center and helped bring a California Veterans Home to Chula Vista. He raised enormous sums of money for numerous local nonprofits, helped launch the Chula Vista Charitable Foundation and is one of the founders of the South County Economic Development Council.
